Art Canvas Swap

I'm part of a small group of friends who a few times a year do different themed swaps.  We are currently swapping canvases with each other.  Our first one was a 4 x 4 and I received this from my crafting bestie, Trent.  He did sewing for mine as it is my favorite theme.

The next round we decided to go with any size as long as it wasn't bigger that 8 x 10.  I received an awesome Steampunk themed canvas from Lori.  She made the frame to house the 5 x 7 rigid canvas.  How awesome is that!!!

So, the two that I have made so far are the 4 x 4 for Wanda.  This is kind of like an exploded piece of paper.  I like how it turned out.

The last one I just finished is for a dear friend Nancy.  I saw this cool technique online and decided to do something that I have never done before.  I was nervous about venturing out of my normal box but we all have to grow at sometime.  I was impressed if I do say so myself about the outcome.

Our next venture is to do #10 manila tags in an art journaling style.  Again, I am going to have to go out of my comfort zone and try something new.  I will post the results of that when they are done.  Thanks for stopping by.

  5. Nice work, Michael. The last photos remind me a bit of a piece Arlene Cuevas did for a Graphic 45 post. I'd bookmarked hers to try it myself. Love how yours turned out.

  6. Michael, I love my canvas and enjoy seeing it every time I walk past my counter. The one you made for Nancy is very cool - I've been thinking of trying out the technique myself. The 2 you have received are fabulous!!!!
